Follow the below steps to try and flash/download the ZTE Blade L2's firmware or ROM.

  1. First download and extract the: SP Flash Tool
  2. Also download and extract the ZTE Blade L2's firmware or ROM from [ROM Download].
  3. Install the MediaTek Preloader USB VCOM drivers as per the tutorial here
  4. Launch the SP Tool from the extracted folder
  5. Click 'Scatter-Loading' > browse to and locate the scatter .txt file from your extracted firmware or ROM files > click Open
  6. Make sure 'Preloader and UserData' are unticked (not checked).
  7. With the ZTE Blade L2 turned off and disconnected, click on the Download/Start button
  8. Connect the ZTE Blade L2 to the computer via a compatible USB so computer can detect and connect to its system

The flashing process should then start with progress bars and you should get a green cycle with a white tick and the text 'Download OK' when the flashing is completed. At which stage you can safely disconnect the your ZTE Blade L2 device and power it on for a re-setup.

NOTE: We can flash the device for you remotely (over the internet) for R100 If you are not comfortable flashing the device yourself. Read more here

This will happen if you attempted to flash the Preloader which turned out to be incompatible. Using 'Format+Download' on SP Tool for example. Preloader versions tends to differs even between stock ROM of the same models which is why we ever advise against flashing it unless if you are sure you must. You will be at ease to know that the ROM per ser has been tested and shared with several other technicians in the past.

Great advice there Kervin, and what further advice you can give towards resolving this issue. I believe I've bought the correct rom

The ROM should be correct if your device has a Single SIM but the Preloader version may still have been different from the one on you particular device. If you did indeed attempt to flash the Preloader, resolving the issue will be quite advance and indefinite. The first phase being to try and obtain a different L2 SIngle ROM with a different Preloader version and then you attempt a full flash.

Very well Sir

Hot News (SASSA card expiring December 2017).

SASSA wish to put it on record that no beneficiary of social grants will be affected by this expiry date. SASSA is in a planning phase regarding the future payment of social grants once the contract with the current service provider CPS (Cash Paymaster Services) comes to an end in March 2018. As soon as final plans are in place beneficiaries will be informed about the updating process later on in the year. So there no need to run for a renewal. See SASSA payment cycle for December 2017 HERE.
