Downloading the Vodacom Smart Mini 7 (VFD300) firmware and flashing via the SP Flash Tool (TUTORIAL)

This Vodafone VDF-300 is offered by Vodacom a the Vodacom Smart Mini 7 with Android 6.0 Mashmallow. Below is a pointer on how you can get to download the ROM in SP Flash Tool format and tips on how you can flash that on to the VFD300 device.

You can find the ROM here: http://roms.satechhelp.co.za/product/vodafone-smart-mini-7-rom-or-firmware-vdf300/ You need to download and extract the .rar achieve

Flash the file with the help the following tips:

  1. Ensure you have the latest SP Flash Tool (download that for free on the net)
  2. Extract and launch it
  3. Click on Scatter loading
  4. Navigate to the extract ROM file
  5. Select the MT6580 scatter .txt file
  6. Untick the 'Preloader' (and any other file you are sure you do not need flashed if any)
  7. Click Download
  8. Remove and replace the battery
  9. Connect the VFD300 via USB to the PC and observe
  10. You should get a quick red progress bar - the yellow one take a little longer
  11. You get Download OK when all is done
  12. At this stage, disconnect the VFD300 device and power on as normal - it will take a little longer to boot for the first time.
  13. But if it takes more than 5 minutes, then boot into recovery and wipe userdate and it should then after boot up fine.

NB. If your device comes up network locked after flashing, the it should mean that it was locked when you bought/got it or that you tried a network locked ROM before you flashed our ROM. No our ROM is NOT locked to any carrier :)

Software Reloading

OPTION 1: REMOTE/ONLINE-BASED RELOADING

If you have access to a computer with internet, we can reload the software for you remotely. Payment should be made prior to the software rework. NB. Please go through the below requirements You need to be willing to pay the R100 into an account we provide You need to have access to a computer Your computer need to have access to the internet for remote connection and download of necessary files Payment to be made before hand For assistance with resetting lost or forgotten locks, we will need you to provide us with the device's IMEI as well If you meet the above terms, then please Contact Us to book a remote flashing. Please include the model of your your phone and the reason for flashing need. We can also provide you with our Whatsapp number if you can access that from another phone.

OPTION 2: SERVICE CENTER-BASED RELOADING

If you do not have access to a computer, we could send our courier to come and collect the phone/tablet from you at an extra fee - we then reload the software and send it back to you. We will need the shipping fee of about R150 paid in as a down payment. If you are OK with the above, then please Contact Us to book a service-center based flashing.
