I have two 7" tablets running KitKat 4.4.2 - one is a Galaxy, the other is a Citrus. On the Galaxy, I can force portrait mode even when dialling/phoning by setting the mode lock in the notification screen, but on the Citrus this mode setting is ignored when dialling/phoning and it reverts to landscape mode.until the home screen is selected, when it jumps back to portrait mode. This behaviour is driving me nuts swivelling the tablet around back and forth through 90 degrees - when I want landscape, I'll permit it, the rest of the time I want portrait, and I know it can be done in KitKat because it works on the Galaxy. Big pity because I prefer the Citrus for several reasons. Clearly there is a byte or two somewhere in the settings memory that needs to be permanently reset, but (i) where is it (i) how do I access it (iii) what value must it be set to?
