How do I reset the MG5740 printer which must have been made in South Africa. If it goes into service mode (5 pushes) it won't respond on the computer. If you do four pushes of the resume button it goes into service mode according to the computer but won't respond to all service tools (error 006).

Hi. This Canon Pixma MG model does not prove to have compatible service tool and error 006 (by the service tool) will also indicate an unsupported model. In which case you will need a different service/reset alternative. Ok, I am finding the one here http://www.datafilehost.com/d/375b1825 which is said to support all members of the Canon Pixma MG (which should include the MG5740). The steps to be followed after accessing the Service Mode and essentially the same as these here http://satechhelp.co.za/2707/Clear-Error-5b02-5b00-Canon-Pixma-Mx394-Mx397 Taking it to your nearest Canon center being the last resort.

Understood :( Only do note that error 006 will also indicate an improper followed procedure. I am trying to further look into this and hope to post back any valued findings.
