Hi. Do the follkwing

1. Download and run an app called "App cache cleaner" and retry lanching the messaging app and observe.
2. If the issue persist, then go to Settings > Applications > Manage applications > All > User dictionary/dictionary > unistall updates and/or clear data and/or force stop.
3. A hard reset my be necessary in the extreme

As do clear data from the Messaging app in the same way aa you to do the User Dictionary.
