Hey Sanet - The printhead nozzles get clogged with dried ink. It is recommended to atleats print a test page off the printer on weekly bases if rarely used. You can always soak the printead in hot water but those are not always conveniently removable.

Not necessarly the ink bottles or cartridges themselves getting dried up but the printhead nozzles instead.
