Welcome SA Tech Help.
Hello,    I was wondering if I can still access 'my contacts' in my Samsung Prevail 2 (sph-m840); when I go to do a hard reset and the menu shows up, can I just do the 'reboot system' option instead of the 'wipe data/ factory reset' option? I do not have my phone backed up into my Google account or use a 'sd card' due to being a victim of a past identity theft case. Please contact me asap.
                     Thank You,
                       Andrea C.

Hi. You will not regain access by doing that sadly. If it is a pattern you are locked behind, you could draw an incorrect one on purpose 5 times > then tap Forgot pattern > and login with your Google/Gmail account credentials. Otherwise, you sadly have to wipe data :(
