Hey Gee - have you tried a hard reset by any chance? Please do kindly comment below if you have as certain devices will let you reset forgotten Privacy Protection Code by merely performing a hard reset  while others will only reset it (the Privacy Protection Code) either when the device's stock ROM if re-flashed in or if the steps here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397797 are performed.
