It must have been noted by now that a simple hard reset does not reset the Privacy Protection Password together with forgotten screen looks and patterns. This is because the password is made part of the main firmware subsystems files and not stored in the user data or cache partition.

  1. If you still have access to the original SIM under which the Mobile Anti-Theft was configured and you still remember the emergency contacts you assigned, then see https://satechhelp.co.za/6970/i-forgot-my-privacy-protection-password
  2. If that does not work for you for some reasons, then clearing the lost or forgotten PPP will requires a complete format of the device's firmware or ROM followed by a reflash of a new one (stock firmware).  If you cannot avail a ROM for your device, then you will either need a friend who owns the same model to take a backup from or you will have to take the phone to your retailer (the shop you purchased it from) and they will send it to one of the manufacturer's workshops for a software reload.
  3. To accomplish ROM load therefore, you need to download both your device's firmware together with the "Smart Phone Flash Tool". Sadly, while the SP Flash Tool is completely free for download, not all Android device's firmware are made available online for download whenever needed. This is sadly why it is necessary to always purchase reputable smartphone brands as you will normally find both stock and custom ROMs/firmware for these made available online for free download whenever needed. :( please note that the SP Flash Tool will only work with Android devices powered by Mediatek chipsets (this does include but not limited to some ZTE, Alcatel, Huawei, Mobicel, AG and Verssed) - post here if you are not very sure. Some if not all All Winner CPU and chipset devices works with LiveSuite. See part 2 (flashing for MTK devices) here
  4. Please go HERE to see all Firmware files that we have ( you must have access to a computer in order to flash your phone)  If you don't have access to a computer please go HERE
  5. Solution PART 2
