Hey - follow the directions here http://satechhelp.co.za/index.php?qa=590&qa_1=how-to-hard-reset-the-zte-switch-x1-to-factory-defaults and choose "Wipe cache partition" instead of the "Wipe data/factory reset". Unfortunately, the only way to conquor the space issue on the ZTE Switch X1 is to root it.

1. From the home screen, touch .

2. Touch the Menu Key > Settings.

3. Check Delete old messages to enable auto deletion.

4. Touch Text message limit or Multimedia message limit to set the maximum limit.

5. Touch Set.
