After having picked up a Geeko USB 3G modem, connect it on to your computer - run the embeded driver and soft and successfully have it installed on to your PC. You may still find that the error "Connection error, remove and reinsert the medem a check the number" is thrown out a little after clicking on the "Connect" button on the software's interface. This error kind which is the focus of this article has been found to be caused by Windows Fire Walls beeing turned off. You may not remember having manually turn these Fire walls off. To access and adjust the Firewall settings, go to:
1. Start and in the serch field type "Windows fire walls" and then hit and Enter
2. Select Windows fire walls from the search results
3. On the top left of the window that then displays, look for and click on "Turn Windows fire walls on or off"
4. Turn on the two fire walls option and after click Apply/Ok and both options should turn green and remain green.
Now retry the "Connect" button and the Geeko 3G Modem should connect as expected with no error of any kind.
