My touchscreen is not responding - what should I do.

1. It my be that the phone is just frozen - to check if it is or not, short press the power button to see if the screen locks and goes turn off the backlight. You can also check to see it the time/clock advances. It it does lock and the clock advances, then the device's system is not frozen. If it does appear frozen on the other hand, then first try the remove the battery for 5 minutes and retry it after - a hard reset may be necessary in the extreme.
2. The touchscreen mechanism sadly does fail spontaneously at time in which case it will have to be replaced.
3. If the phone fell, the it may be that the touch screen connector/ribbon got dislodge and must need be replaced (it is necessary ti take the device apart).
