Hey - If you are able to surf the internet using your phone's browser, then chances are your internet settings are not the cause of the issue. How or what app are you using to add the email account? Please try clearing any cache or data from the app you are configuring your email to by navigating to Settings > Apps > All > *app name* > Clear cache/data > .. confirm.
