Hey - A memory card normally starts automatically. If it does not, then it may indicate a problem either with the memory card itself or your device. To try and isolate what of the two could be the issue, you will need to try the memory card in question in your friend or family's phone and also try theirs (memory card) in your phone. Cleaning both the memory card and the memory card using recommended methods may be of some help in case it is merely dirt insulating the contacts. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
