A possible issue with the drivers/software configurations. Do the following to try and correct the issue:

  1. Disconnect your printer from the computer and turn it off
  2. Navigate to control panel and uninstall all that pertains to the printer model
  3. Reboot your computer
  4. Download and install the driver and software here https://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?oid=232592&BV_UseBVCookie=yes&infoType=Downloads&platform=OSF_W_7-64
  5. Only connect and turn on the printer when prompted to 'during the driver installation process'
  6. Retry performing the same task and observe
