Hi there

Im hope you could help

This Vodafone 600 prime was bought locally in the Eastern Cape and was given as present. I am in Limpopo now and a Vodacom client. When i first used the phone there was no problems with it. Last week thursday both my Vodafone and Samsung had no service on the Vodacom network for that weekend and so too did alot of people here had the same problem. However, the service on my Samsung came back on with 4g except my Vodafone. It keeps saying No Service or Emergency Calls Only. I have rebooted and factory reset but still doesnt even pick up one network when searching  for networks manualy or automatically. Could you maby help me to try and find out it this Vodafone is really network locked. Please advice on any information you might need.

Thanx a mill

Johan

I will surely try. Please note that the Vodafone is fully functional except MMS, SMS outgoing and incoming calls. Its not stuck at some screen where you have to put in a unlock code

I suggest you confirm that with the person who gave you the phone. If the phone is not on contract then find out if the person have finished paying the phone or not if bought on Monthly installment plan. The dealer can blacklist the phone from the network if agreement not met.

Hi Thom

I spoke to the relevant people regarding this phone's status and the phone is not blacklisted on its IMEI number and not Network blocked and Sim locked either. I still don't understand the "no service/emergency calls only" issue this phone is having. Could it be a hardware problem?

Have you tried a different network sim?
Is the SIM card detected by the phone?

Yes Thom. I have a insirted a mtn simcard and the phone does pick it up. The sim reader is working. When i did a network search manualy all the networks showed and when i selected mtn it says "error" "please try again later" I switched the phone off and changed to my Vodacom sim card. Switched back on and conected to the network. When i did a USSD balance check *111# The services menu came up but when i did the balance check the phone lost connection saying no service and a little while later emergency calls only. I will check out the link. Thank you
