I recently bought a AG Mobile smartphone and inserted the two sims, but it won't let me choose the sim for the mobile data - are there certain settings I need or do I have to activate it or what?

I do have data, but it says,  that the mobile data is unavailable

Hi. Please try Settings > More... > Mobile Networks > Data enable (tap to check the box there until the tick there is blueish). Let us know.

Edit: Forget the above, Try using a single SIM first and observe. Settings are normally auto configured. Do be sure you are trying the one with valid data bundles. Remember to advise on the carrier names under which the two SIMs you are using are.
