Welcome SA Tech Help, Questions are normally answered in less than 10 minutes
When I try to copy the files, only the shortcut gets copied but when I open the file from my USB, the file opens normal. Also, when I check the size of the USB drive, it shows to have files, but when I just highlight the shortcuts and check, their size, I only KBs. Is there a way to heal my USB and make my files visible again.

Do the following:

  1. Connect your USB stick onto a computer and notice it drive letter. Like H:, G:, etc.
  2. The Go to Start and type cmd in the search field and allow a few seconds - look for cmd from the search results and click on it
  3. With cmd opened, type your drive letter and click Enter - like "H:" without quotes and hit Enter
  4. You will get something like: H:\>
  5. Then copy and paste (or type) the below command line and then hit Enter - then go and see if you files are all not shown :

                                           attrib -s -h -r /s /d *.*
