Is the Monthly EAP limit valid for Swiping Limit?  I.E. if I swipe for any amount, as long as it is within my monthly limit, it will allow the transaction?

Hey Marphy, If you have the Standard Bank Smartphone app, you can conveniently do this from thereon (if the below options do not seem to show up, update the app to the latest available version. To do this,

  1. Select the menu icon in the top left or swipe the screen from left to right
  2. Select ‘Settings’ (at the bottom right)
  3. Under the ‘Cards’ section, select the highlighted card (this is the main card you used to create the dashboard)
  4. Select ‘Monthly EAP Limit’
  5. Select the current EAP limit amount, and change this to the new limit that you’d like (up to a maximum of R500 000)
  6. Select ‘Next’
  7. You will receive a one-time password (OTP) delivered to your cellphone or email
  8. Enter this OTP and confirm
  9. A screen will confirm your limit is updated and you will receive an SMS to confirm your limit has been changed
  10. Your new limit is applied permanently (ie for this month, and all months after that) until modified again
