Last the 31st of December 2014 the Sassa grants were available past 6 that day, will it be the same this year and if not why not? because tomorrow is a public holiday and how in Gods name is people suppose to get their money when shops are close and if they are open its for a few hours and what about the people that has to travel to get their money. There is hardly any public transport for people to collect on a public holiday. Also I've check my balance on my cellphone and every time I select the option of paying 75c to receive my balance it ends up telling me error has occurred. Not acceptable at all.

Hi. Sorry for the delayed reply. The Department Of Social Development states that the social grant payment cycle will always commence on the 1st of the same month 'even if the 1st lies on a public holiday'. The balance check error must be a system glitch or a deliberate system downtime. While the money may be available from as early as 6PM of the 31st Dec 2015, we sadly cannot confirm due to lack of a word from the DSD or NET1 CPS.
