Huawei P8(rooted)
After last reboot gives error that icons will be moved to default position, then the soft keys start to jump up and down. Wallpapers and widgets as well as certain apps can also not be opened.

Tried:

  • System wipe and restore.
  • Deleting apps
  • Wiping cache & dalvik

System is working fine- can get messages, have active connections and in general it's ok, except when soft keys start jumping. Have TWRP as recovery and Super SU. What might be the problem and solution pls.

Hi. While rooting sure serve its purpose, it sure does have an inherent vulnerability risk to the system apps. Fortunately, there exist a good supply of the Huawei P8 series' firmware files to help in restoring system files to factory presets (this will even revoke root and custom recoveries - you can always reroot and install the custom recovery). The firmware files are available here http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/firmware-huawei-p8-t3140838 depending on the exact Huawei P8 you own. Let us know if we can be of further help (or if you prefer a non-PC based firmware flashing method).

Hi

Thank you for the link.

I have a Huawei P8 GRA-L09 B151

However, when i flash the firmware.zip in TWRP according to instructions, and it says the .zip file is corrupted.

I then used the Huawei Update Extractor - unable to find the UPDATE.APP file.

The key press combination to force huawei update is the same as TWPR recovery. Any bypass?

Just for info... What is the diffirence between booting in recovery and or into bootloader? When do you use which?

Thanks a mill
Pieter
